Diamond Fuji is when the sun aligns with Mt. Fuji’s summit and appears to glitter like a diamond. This phenomenon happens twice a year (in May and August) and can be viewed on different days depending on where you see it.

Minamiboso is a famous spot for photographing Mt. Fuji, especially Diamond Fuji. The spots below were selected as two of the top 100 views of Mt. Fuji in the Kanto Region.

1. Haraoka Sanbashi – May 6, 7

2. Taibusa-misaki – May 8

*Sunset is estimated at 6:30 p.m. so come earlier to catch it before it sinks into the summit. Also keep in mind that Mt. Fuji may not be visible in cloudy or poor weather.
